What is The Alternative Board?
The Alternative Board TABŪ
is a membership organization of CEO's
presidents and business owners who
improve their businesses by attending
monthly group meetings guided by professional
TAB Certified Facilitators trained
in the TAB system.
TAB
has board meetings in cities across
North America . TAB is continuing
to expand into new areas as qualified
facilitators are identified, appointed
and trained.
How
will I benefit from TAB
At
your monthly TAB Board Meeting,
all members will discuss their problems
and opportunities in a relaxed,
confidential atmosphere. When you
present a problem or opportunity
to your group, the other members
and your TAB Certified Facilitators will offer
practical solution (rather than
theory) and advice. Members in each
TAB Board collectively have hundreds
of years of business experience.
The diversity of backgrounds of
the members will provide you with
a cross-fertilization of ideas that
you'll be able to apply to your
business.
Which
TAB Board should I join?
You'll
be placed in a board that the TAB
Certified Facilitator feels
is the best match for you. Your
TAB Certified Facilitator
will consider such factors as your
company's annual sales volume and
number of employees, as well as
the type and complexity of your
business . Each board generally
has members operating business in
several different business sectors
such as manufacturing, distribution,
retailing, construction and service.
Who
will be my fellow TAB Board Members?
We
have a saying at TAB: "You
have to be at the top to understand
what life at the top is about".
Each TAB Member operates a business
in a field that doesn't compete
with other members in his or her
group (or is not in a key vendor
relationship with another group
member).
How
do I know if I'm qualified to become
a TAB Member?
Membership
in TAB is by invitation only. A
TAB Certified Facilitator
will meet with you to assess your
business experience, your willingness
to help others and openness to accepting
advice and ideas. In addition, each
member of the group must be inviting
you to join.
What
will my membership cost me in time,
commitment and membership dues?
Depending
on the complexity of the TAB board,
either three or four hours each
month. In addition, there are varying
Levels of Private Session programs,
ranging from quarterly sessions
to monthly two-hour sessions. Membership
dues amount to a fraction of a minimum
wage employee but allows access
to hundreds of years of CEO business
experience and typically generates
a minimum of four to six times return
every year.
How
many TAB Boards are there in the
Carolinas?
Across
both North and South Carolina, there
are more than a dozen TAB Boards
meeting every month, supported by
seven TAB Certified Facilitators.
